I will look at your solution again. I saw the first time that you come to a different conclusion to me about the case when $|f|$ is a positive minimum.
Edit: Yes your answer is not the same as mine. If you draw a picture for the case when the origin in the $f$-plane is outside $f(\Gamma)$, you may find you agree with my solution. Just a suggestion.
