Last December terrence posted a question about what he thought was an error in the book on page 316. I posted a reply saying I didn't think it was. It seems to me that reading the two posts in the thread he started gives a massive hint about how to do the suggested exercise and so for the moment I refer you to his thread in this board.
On re-reading it I found a typo which I have corrected in red. I had made a mistake by referring to page 317 as page 42.
