Vasco, The the plotting of hyperbolic objects seems more elusive than, say, the projection of stereographic points to the Riemann sphere. My very simple question is in the document. euclid.to.hyperbolic.pdf (54.6 KB) Gary

The simple answer is that $\mathcal{H}\{q,a\}$ is the distance along the tractrix from $y=q$ to $y=a$.
You need to be using the equations proved in the suggested exercise on page 309.
